CourseWork & Submissions

Topic Selection

The research topic must be submitted through the designated link. Once it has been reviewed and approved by the faculty, you may proceed with preparing your research proposal.

Proposal

This component contributes 10% to the overall module grade. The proposal should be delivered as an oral presentation, submitted in the form of recorded PowerPoint slides. Please upload it to Moodle before the specified deadline.

Ethics Form

Fill out the ethics form in line with the provided guidelines. Submit it by email to the Ethics Review Committee (ERC) for review and feedback. If it is approved, you will receive an officially signed and stamped ethics approval document. If revisions are requested, make the necessary changes and send it again for approval. Once final approval is granted, upload the approved ethics form to Moodle before the deadline.

Dissertation Module

This assessment accounts for 90% of the overall module grade. It requires a report of approximately 15,000 words and can only be submitted once ethics approval has been granted.

The module handbook and other supporting materials are available on the UoW Canvas platform for guidance. You can also access sample assignments in the relevant section, which can help you understand the expected format, structure, and academic standards.

ASSESSMENT & RESULTS

  • Assessment results are typically issued within 4-5 weeks after grading has been completed. This timeline includes internal marking, moderation, and final approval by the Examination Board.
  • A module is considered passed if the overall mark is 40% or higher. If the mark falls below 40%, students will be given an opportunity to resubmit their work.
  • For resubmission, students are required to include an additional document of approximately 1,000 words outlining the revisions and improvements made. This explanation must be submitted along with the updated assignment.
  • If the resubmitted work does not meet the required standard, the student will need to pay a fee of GBP 80 per module to retake it. Failure to pass the retaken module may lead to removal from the programme.
